Self Driving Technology, possible within five years from now- Fiat Chrysler C.E.O

Earlier last week, May 3,  automobile giants FCA and google announced that they will be working together to double the size of google self driving technology by adding 100 Chrysler Pacifica minivans which will be used for testing purposes.

On Friday, May 6, CEO of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles Sergio Marchionne said working with google convinced him that self driving technology is getting close than he and stated it could be on the road with five years.

Although this is the first time google  has agreed to work directly with an automobile company to install self driving tech and computer.

Sergio Marchionne also launched Pacifica production at FCA’s Plant in Windsor after discussing the partnership.

Marchionne said FCA and Google will have to work out specifics like who owns the data in the cars down the road.

"We need to get to the stage where the car is viable before we can discuss the spoils," he said.
Marchionne said it was initially unsettling to get into Google's self-driving test cars in California, but as he rode in them he felt "absolutely safe."

"You could almost feel the reasoning process that the car was going through," he said. "It's like watching a robot execute, and it executes well."
